AN IDF soldier from London who is taking part in the desperate mission to find the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers has told Jewish News of the now “urgent” efforts to find the boys.
“We go to houses that have terrorist associations to look for signs, anything that could lead the investigation forward,” said the soldier, who wanted to remain anonymous. “A lot of the houses, at face level there’s nothing there. It looks like we’ve come to hassle innocent families.
“But there was a unit that found a cellar and on the third floor a weapons factory. We’re working under the principle they’re alive – there’s a huge sense of urgency.”
IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner told Jewish News of a Palestinian man who was shot after ignoring warnings to stay back. He was later found to have been “mentally unstable”.
