Young Lions secure third straight league title
Maccabi London Lions White’s secured their third consecutive title as they were crowned champions of the Watford Friendly League Under 11 Red Division.
Having already won the U9 and U10 titles, they completed the hat-trick in style, losing only three of their 20 games, and finishing seven points clear of their nearest rivals.
Manager Nigel Burns, who’s Director of Youth Football at the club, along with his assistant Joel Phillips, said: “We’re rightly very proud and delighted with the achievement of the team – this has been a team effort and richly deserved.As the boys get older the games tend to get more physical, but we try and get the boys to play football the right way.”
The team still have the chance to complete a league and cup double, when they contest the final of the Challenge Cup on 17 May.

Royal Mail issued a stamp honouring Holocaust hero Sir Nicholas Winton after a Jewish News campaign attracted more than 100,000 backers. Jewish Newsalso produces special editions of the paper highlighting pressing issues including mental health and Holocaust remembrance.
