Firebrand Pizza has been perfecting its wood-fired sourdough pizzas since opening in Marylebone in 2016 and quickly built up a reputation for fantastic food. Earlier this year, Firebrand Pizza launched its second restaurant in Clerkenwell, a short distance from Exmouth Market.
The Clerkenwell restaurant is housed in an Old Victorian Bank on Rosebery Avenue, and provides guests with a stylish setting in which to enjoy classic Italian cooking and friendly service. There’s also comfortable pavement seating to watch the world go by during warm summer days.
The pizzas are made from sourdough proved for 72 hours, which really helps to develop a delicious crust and are more Romana in style, with a crispier crust and cooked in the wood-fired oven, a focal point in both restaurants.
Firebrand Pizza uses the freshest ingredients, such as Caputo flour, San Marzano tomatoes and 100% Fior di Latte mozzarella, all sourced from Naples.
Alongside pizzas, guests can choose from a wide range of pastas, risottos, meat and fish dishes – Italian classics and a few originals all made with fine ingredients, which can be bought from the restaurant’s Italian deli, Cotica, located at the Clerkenwell branch. The wine list is exclusively Italian and offers fine examples of the different grape varieties and regions for which Italy is famous.
