Two hustings cancelled as campaigning stops after Manchester bombing
Events planned by London Jewish Forum are pulled, as parties suspend election campaigns in wake of deadly terror attack
Two election hustings planned by the London Jewish Forum for tonight have been cancelled after campaigning was suspended.
All political parties announced they would halt campaigning in the wake of the Manchester terrorist atrocity.
Alyth Synagogue was set to have hosted the second hustings in two days for Finchley and Golders Green, while the candidates for Ilford North were also scheduled to have gone head to head as part of a series organised by the London Jewish Forum in partnership with Jewish News.
Adrian Cohen, Chairman of London Jewish Forum said: “Following the terrible events last night, our thoughts at the London Jewish Forum are with the people of the great City of Manchester.
“It is entirely appropriate that we postpone tonight’s hustings events in Ilford North and Finchley & Golders Green in respect for what has happened. Our thoughts go out to those people and families affected by this horrific terror attack. We hope to reschedule the hustings when the campaign resumes.”
