LONDON MACCABI LIONS BLUE 4 BRADY MACCABI A 1
Lions moved up into sixth spot as they comprehensively beat Brady.

James Gold scored twice, with Richard Gold and Will Beresford also finding the back of the net.

Player-manager Jamie Kyte told jewishnews.co.uk: “We were fortunate to play a Brady team that were short on players today. Apart from the first 10 minutes when we were a bit shakey, we were never in danger once we started scoring.

“Jame Gold’s first was extremely well taken and when a rare Will Beresford header where he lept like a salmon at the near post went in you knew it would be our day.”

————————–

NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS A 3 CAMDEN PARK 1
Phil Peters’ side moved 17 points clear at the top of the table thanks to this win over a battling Camden side.

Jamie Wolfson, Matt Stock and Oli Henry scored the goals for the runaway leaders.

Peters told jewishnews.co.uk: “I was just pleased to get the game on when so many were postponed.”

Max Saunders scored for Camden, for whom joint-player-manager Nick Kagan told jewishnews.co.uk: “Good effort from the boys, we matched Raiders for large parts of the game, but unfortunately had a poor 20 minutes at the beginning of the second half which cost us the game. An improvement on recent games, but we’ve still got a way to go to turn our form around. We still need to create more chances from open play.”

FIXTURES & RESULTS

BLIZZARD STORM 1 AC MILL HILL 6
Mill Hill moved up into fourth spot as hat-trick from Ben Zloof saw them to this emphatic win.

Centre-back Ben Grabiner scored twice, with Daniel Levene’s strike completing the rout.

Player-manager Joseph Levy told jewishnews.co.uk: “Despite only having 11 players available, we put in a fantastic team performance and thoroughly deserved the victory. Ben Grabiner kept up his fantastic run of scoring to head home from two corners in the first half provided by Jason Shoffman.

“We started the second half a tad sloppy and forgetting we had changed ends, Ben Grabiner put through his own net to make it 2-1. However, we look like we are finally starting to click and moved the ball around nicely to create chances. When Zloof gets a sight on goal there is usually only one result and he went on to complete a 20 minute hat-trick as well as assisting in a first goal of the season for Daniel Levene.”

LONDON HAROLDEANS 1 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 10
Redbridge closed the gap to nine points as they went goal-crazy at Haroldeans.

Nathan Sollosi and Sam Sollosi scored two each, while Craig Sandford, Adam Goldman, Aaron Goldberg, Jordan Sapler, James Berkley and Scott Oldstein also all got on the scoresheet.

James Abrams scored for Haroldeans, for whom co-manager Sam Huglin tld jewishnews.co.uk: “It was the ultimate game of two halves and the first half was every bit as good as the second half was was bad. Losing Ben Gardner, our centre back was massive. We lost our shape. Then, we thought we had a perfectly good goal disallowed, which would have made it 2-0. It was disappointing to crumble as much as we did in the second half and 10-1 was a crushing defeat. No point dwelling on that now, as there are still points to play for.”

————————–

NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS B 2 FC TEAM B 2
Team produced the performance of the day as the bottom side held heavy title favourites to this draw.

Daniel Woolfe and Mitch Lassman scored for Team, with Jonny Blain and Joe Tankel on target for the home side.

Team player-manager David Gordon told jewishnews.co.uk: “I did not expect to come away from yesterday’s game feeling like we had dropped two points. We deserved to win the game and everyone was absolutely gutted at the final whistle, which came about 10 seconds after their equaliser went in.

“I am proud of all the boys though as they were absolutely superb and put in an amazing performance. I think Raiders proved why they are top of the league though because despite being outplayed for the majority of the second half they were still able to come away with a point. Sometimes you get the luck at the top and sadly when you’re at the bottom it seems to go against you.”
