Peres welcomes Naomi Campbell to Israel for International Women’s Day
Former Israeli president Shimon Peres welcomed supermodel and activist Naomi Campbell to Israel to mark International Women’s Day.
The ninth president of Israel presented Campbell with the ‘Women Leading Change’ award, recognising her activism and work for equality.
Opening the event, Peres said “We have no future in a world that discriminates against women”. He continued, by thanking Campbell “for outstanding work to advance the role of women” across the world, whilst interviewing her,
Campbell said: “Leaders such as yourself, Mr. Peres, and those like Nelson Mandela, are what make the world a better place. You inspire me.”
