UK Ambassador to Israel urges Brits to ‘follow the rules’

Britain’s Ambassador to Israel has called on UK nationals or those planning to visit the Jewish state to abide by its rules for stopping the virus.

Speaking in a Facebook live video from his home – where he is self-isolating  – Neil Wigan called for adherence to guidance in this “uncertain time”.

“The Embassy is in close touch with the Israeli authorities to make sure that we have the most up-to-date information that we can give you.”

“The most important thing is to follow the rules set up by the Israeli authorities and there’s a link on our travel advice to the Israeli Ministry of health which sets out those rules, including for self isolation, including for recent arrivals, social distancing, public gatherings, and so on.

“I’m following those rules myself, I’m in self-isolation because somebody on my flight back from the UK to Israel tested positive for Corona.”

“So like many people, I’m working from home and catching up on Israeli TV shows.”
