King David High School Manchester 2018 GSCE results

The average numerical score per pupil at King David High School in Manchester equated to 8As (or 8 x Grade 7.

Chair Joshua Rowe said: “I’m delighted for the pupils who have worked so hard and done so well and delighted for the teachers who put so much effort into supporting our pupils.”

Results rundown:
91% pass rate at 5 A* – C
26% of all passes were at Level 9, 8 and A*
45% of all passes were at Level 9, 8, A*, 7 and A

Hasmonean 2018 GSCE results

For the seventh year running, more than half of all GCSE grades were A*/A/9-7 (53% this year) and over 90% of grades were in the A*-C/9-4 category (92% this year).

Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School 2018 GSCE results

Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree, which has many Jewish students, enjoyed some personal successes, including for Jasper Federman (pictured), who is one of the vice-presidents of BYYO, and Joshua Birns, who is Madrich of Bnei Akiva.

Federman, who hit three Grade 9s (A**) and five Grade 8s (A*), said he was “over the moon,” while Birns, who is also Warden of Mill Hill Youth, said he was “ecstatic” after landing five Grade 9s and seven Grade 8s.

JCoSS 2018 GSCE results

A quarter of students achieved at least 8 GCSEs at Grade 7 (A) or better, and nearly two-fifths achieved at least 5 at Grade 7 (A) or better.

Headteacher, Mr Moriarty said: “We are delighted by another set of fabulous GCSE results – now the 4^th in our collection and sustaining consistent high standards despite the challenges of new specifications and grade systems.  They are testament to the exceptional hard work and dedication of our staff and students alike.

“We rejoice at these excellent raw grades, and also at the many students who have far exceeded personal goals and school targets, and we also salute the huge achievements of Amy Woloski, Noa Taylor, Louis Rogove, Miri Goodlink, Noa Ben-Menahem, Edouard Hirsch, Lia Avigdor and Joseph Lever among many others.”

Overall, 40% of grades achieved were at Grades 9-7 (or the equivalent A or A* which still operate in a few subjects). and 82% were at Grades 9-4 (or the equivalent A*- C). Amongst the new qualifications, over a quarter were at Grade 8 or 9 (the old A*), and 12.5% of grades were Grade 9 which is reserved for the top 2% of students.  In French this figure was over 20% of grades, and in History and Chemistry over 23%.

Kantor King Solomon 2018 GCSE results

Kantor King Solomon saw 70% of its students attain English and Maths. Jewish Studies continued to be a strength of the school with more than 80% achieving grades 4-9 and over 31% achieving grades 7-9 in GCSE Religious Studies.

Headteacher Hannele Reece said: “I am so proud and delighted for the entire school, that we have maintained our amazing success at GCSE. The staff, students, parents, Governors and the entire community have committed to the success of our school. These results are testament to the focus, determination, skill and tenacity of our teaching staff and our students.

“Kantor King Solomon continues to move from strength to strength, I am so proud of all our staff and students and all their hard work.”

Yavneh College 2018 GCSE results

Borehamwood-based College saw 50 percent of all exams land a 7 or above, and 92 percent were at 5 or above.

Several of its pupils scooped at least six of the top ‘9’ grades, including Sophie Horne, Nathan Silver, Natasha Sweiry, Jamie Grossman, Sophie Baxter, Danny Berlin, Rebecca Franklin, Ben Gruneberg, Renee Yantin and Josh Beach.

Proud headteacher Spencer Lewis said he was “absolutely delighted with another fantastic set of results,” adding: “Pupils should be very proud of what they have achieved in an environment where GCSEs have become more difficult than ever.”

Immanuel College 2018 GCSE results

A resounding 98% of grades from pupils at Immanuel College were A*-C.

Headmaster Gary Griffin said: “These results are hugely impressive! I am very proud of the students and their teachers who have worked so hard, and so effectively, to produce these outstanding GCSE grades. Whilst I appreciate it is difficult for those trying to make sense of a combination of letters and numbers, I can assure everyone that these are superb results which reflect extremely well on the pupils and staff at Immanuel. I would like to send my sincere congratulations to all involved.”

Round-up of results:
57% were A*
78% were A* to A
98% were A* to C

In those subjects that were assessed by number grade which include English and Maths, (9 -1):

15% attained the exclusive Level 9- the National average is 4%
36% were Level 8 and 9
85% were Level 9 to 5

JFS 2018 GSCE results

JFS headteacher Rachel Fink was thrilled with the performance of her students,who achieved exceptional grades under the new, tougher 9-1 grading system.

She said: “Congratulations to all our students who have once again demonstrated commitment to their own learning and we join them and their families in celebrating their success.  This is reflected not only in the number of top grades but more importantly in the progress measure for the entire cohort.  This accomplishment reflects the strong partnership between school and home.  Thanks must go to our staff for their tireless dedication, support and professional expertise. We look forward to welcoming students into our outstanding sixth form in September.”

Overall:
51% of all grades were 9-7 or A*-A
91% of all entries were 9-4 or A*-C
17.3% of all grades for the new GCSE achieved a top grade of a 9.
104 students (36% of students) achieved 9-7 or A*/A grades in 8 or more subjects.
