Former MEP says sorry for ‘disputatious Jews’ slur

The Board of Deputies earned an apology from a former European politician who defended anti-Israel MP David Ward and accused them of being “a frightful bag of disputatious Jews”.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Edward Macmillan-Scott (pictured, right), a former Vice-President of the European Parliament, took to Twitter after Ward’s latest anti-Israel comments were attacked.

He said: “David Ward can look after himself. The @BoardofDeputies is a frightful bag of disputatious Jews and the editor of the @JewishChron is a prat.”

In a statement on Wednesday, the Board said: “We are also deeply concerned about the comments and we consider his subsequent tweeted apology wholly inadequate.”

It comes after David Ward MP tweeted: “”The big question is – if I lived in #Gaza would I fire a rocket? – probably yes.”
