BBC Storyville has secured the UK rights for Holocaust documentary Misha and the Wolves, which made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this week.

The film, directed by Sam Hobkinson, follows the tale of Misha Defonseca, whose Holocaust memoir was so remarkable that it became
a bestselling book and film.
In the early 1990s, Defonseca began relating her incredible tale of survival: how, aged seven, her parents were deported by the Nazis and she was taken in by another family, only to decide she wanted to reunite with
her parents and journey by foot from Belgium to Germany.
Along the way, the little girl wandered into the woods and there she befriended a pack of wolves, who protected and fed her.
As Misha’s story becomes a bestseller, she attracts media attention from all over the world – but when her publisher turns detective, the author’s version of the truth rapidly unravels and an elaborate hoax is unveiled.
