Administrative and Fundraising Assistant

Part-time (Hours to be agreed)

About Friends of the Sick (Chevrat Bikkur Cholim)

Friends of the Sick (Chevrat Bikkur Cholim) (FOS) is a registered charity established over 70 years ago whose purpose is to provide support workers to enable elderly or incapacitated people in the Jewish community to carry on leading their life in the comfort and security of their own homes. At the core of what we do is the belief that no-one should have to face old age or illness on their own. We employ paid staff to support our clients with various tasks such as shopping, cooking and transport and to provide companionship. FOS does not provide personal care, as it is not licensed to do so. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we can provide help at a reduced cost to our clients. In some cases, we significantly reduce or waive the charge we make for our services.

Job Summary

The Administrative and Fundraising Assistant is an important role within FOS. The successful applicant will lead on the generation of income, with a particular focus on charitable trusts and foundations, to support running costs and new projects. He/she will also be expected to raise the profile of FOS and to attract a new generation of donors within the Jewish community. The right candidate will be a strong communicator who can bring applications and proposals to life with compelling narrative to demonstrate FOS’s case to a range of funders.

This is an excellent opportunity to use your skills and experience as a seasoned administrator and fundraiser to improve the support given to our clients, their families and support workers.
