A recent event at Netzach Yisroel

An Orthodox shul in Edgware has become the latest member of the Federation of Synagogues after a 16-year wait.

Netzach Yisroel, led by Gateshead-born Rabbi Dovid Roberts, joined as a constituent member after a vote at the shul’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday.

Kehillas Netzach Yisroel was first established as a Seed Shabbos morning minyan in 1999. It is known for its family atmosphere, and was praised by the Federation for showing “the formula for a successful community”.

Dovid said he was excited to contribute to the “renaissance” of the Federation, which boasts a Beth Din, a kosher food division and a burial society, with a new cemetery in Edgwarebury Lane, due to be consecrated in 2016.

The shul’s chairman Mr Mark Hamburger added: “We are delighted to be nailing the KNY flag to the Federation mast and look forward to a long and successful relationship.”
