The US-based rabbi who claims sick children are being punished for sins in a past life has called the Chief Rabbi a “cancer” and “gay-lover” who will “bring a Holocaust on England’s Jews”.
Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi, who has 200,000 followers on social media, was due to be hosted in the UK this week by Charedi rabbis in north London, including Rabbi Aharon Bassous in Golders Green, who led a boycott of the JW3 culture centre for encouraging “homosexual activities”.
However his four-day visit, during which he planned to speak to 1,500 people, was called off after Mizrachi learned that he would be questioned on arrival. Jewish community leaders had earlier reacted in horror at the prospect of him lecturing to children in schools.
Mizrachi claims that less than a million halachic Jews were killed in the Holocaust, that Down’s Syndrome and autism are punishments for previous sins, and that blind children are serving penance for watching pornography in a past life.
In Mizrachi’s latest video, posted to YouTube, he describes dealing with “wicked liberals” in the UK before saying Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis “runs the war against me” and “is a hater of Torah and a very evil person”.
To laughter from his audience, Mizrachi says of Mirvis: “To call him Reform is an insult to Reform people… He was the one calling every place I was scheduled to speak – schools, shuls – to threaten them”.
Mizrachi said Mirvis “contacted 20 secular newspapers” and contacted “a Muslim woman” in the Home Office, before saying there were “thousands of Muslim murderers speaking in UK mosques, ISIS people… not one is not let in”.
In a rambling rant, Mizrachi said Mirvis and Senior Sephardi Rabbi Joseph Dweck were “the two friends, gay lovers, who do everything they can to promote homosexuality and destroy the Jewish nation from inside, destroy the Jewish community in England… he’s going to bring a Holocaust on the Jews in England”.
Among Mizrachi’s complaints about Mirvis was that the Chief Rabbi wished England’s football team – “a bunch of goyim,” in Mizrachi’s words – good luck ahead of their World Cup semi-final last year. “This is the clown we are dealing with.”
He added: “The cancer is here, in the heart of our nation. Its name is Mirvis. That’s the cancer that must be cleaned.”
The Office of the Chief Rabbi declined to comment.
