Baroness Williams of Trafford

Members of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Against Anti-Semitism met this week to hear the new Communities Minister, Baroness Williams of Trafford, vow to continue efforts to tackle the age-old hatred.

The group’s inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) provided the backdrop for Williams to confirm that the Cross-Government Working Group on Antisemitism would continue into this parliament.

The newly reconstituted group re-elected chairman John Mann, who last year commissioned a report into the upsurge in anti-Semitic incidents following the war in Gaza.

The inquiry, which reported earlier this year, said it was “shocked by the ferocity and vulgarity of the anti-Semitism and the ease with which it was spread,” particularly online.
