Banned rugby players at the London School of Economics had earlier been reprimanded for breaking a Jewish boy’s nose following a Nazi-themed party, according to Student Union representatives.

An email from the student general secretary, Nona Buckley-Irvine, to all students explaining the ban detailed the club’s offensive drinking games, use strippers at year-end dinners and leaflets labelling women ‘slags’, ‘trollops’ and ‘mingers.’

The same email says players “have blacked up and dressed as Guantanamo Bay detainees” in front of Muslim students as well as being involved in “Nazi-themed drinking games on tour which led to a Jewish student’s nose being broken”.

Buckley-Irvine added: “We have tried to rehabilitate this club and apply the appropriate sanctions throughout the years, but it simply hasn’t worked.”
