The Israeli army demolished the home of a Palestinian man who rammed his car into a group of soldiers and killed two of them.

The attack took place in March, when Ala Kabha, 26, rammed his car into the group of soldiers outside a military post in the northern West Bank, near the Mevo Dotan settlement, killing Sgt. Netanel Kahalani, and Capt. Ziv Daos and seriously injuring two others.

The demolished home was an apartment in a  building in the northern West Bank village of Barta’a. Only Kabha’s apartment was destroyed, the rest of the building remained intact.

Kabha first called the attack an accident and later said he intended to murder soldiers, according to the Israel Security Agency.

The incident took place on a day designated as a Day of Rage to protest 100 days after President Donald Trump recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. A coalition of Palestinian groups, including Hamas, had called for confrontations with soldiers and settlers after Friday prayers on that day.

Kabha was released from Israeli prison in April 2017.
