Jerusalem has marked 50-years since the unification of the city during the six day war, with fireworks and a special ceremony addressed by Israel’s president and prime minister.

The Old City’s ancient walls were illustrated with projected video art, as fireworks lit up the night sky on Sunday evening.
After the display, a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary was addressed by President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
On Monday morning, president Donald Trump began his official visit to Israel. He will visit Jerusalem on the first day – and is set to become the first sitting president to visit the Western Wall.
