Home Secretary Theresa May helped an Israeli children’s charity raise more than £250,000 last week at a gala dinner alongside Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks and former Israeli finance minister Yair Lapid. Some 450 guests packed into The Roundhouse to hear the former Chief Rabbi interview prominent opposition politician Lapid, who praised the work of his host Emunah for their work supporting vulnerable children. Sky TV’s Samantha Simmonds made the appeal, reminding guests that two Emunah centres had been in lockdown due to nearby terror attacks. British Emunah chair Hilary Pearlman said: “It was an incredible and enjoyable evening.”
